Delft Light BackPack X-ray Solution for Remote Regions

Delft Light is a battery-operated, ultra-portable X-ray system (UPX) in a backpack to ensure easy portability. The detachable batteries can be charged by solar energy, are easy to set up, and are especially suited for TB screening at or outside health facilities, or in remote and resource-constrained settings.

Easy to carry & set up

The Delft Light weighs only 29.5kg (standard components) and comes in a backpack and a detector bag. It can be taken to any terrain and easily set up or dismantled in 5-10 minutes.

With two detachable batteries, Delft Light can make up to 400 exposures on fully charged batteries. These batteries can be charged either with a grid or with the provided portable solar panel. Charging it with the latter mitigates the risks of unstable grid power and voltage spikes in the national grid. In outreach screening, detachable batteries can be easily swapped out and recharged in the field, ensuring continuous operation without downtime.

The Delft Light was designed for chest X-rays, but it can also image extremities and diagnose injuries and fractures. The 360-degree rotation of the X-ray tube stand allows for screening various body parts. whether the patient is standing or lying down.

A complete ultra-portable X-ray system inside a backpack

The backpack digital X-ray system is designed for use in areas with high ambient temperatures and elevated humidity. The 29.5kg system comes with a backpack and a detector bag, making it easy to transport by car, motorcycle, or boat.

It runs on two high-capacity, rechargeable external batteries, allowing for up to 400 exposures on full-charge batteries. The Delft Light is CE-certified and meets WHO/IAEA technical specifications for portable digital X-rays (2021).

Delft Light is the leading ultra-portable X-ray system (UPX) for TB programmes, used in over 40 countries worldwide.

Procuring Delft’s X-ray systems with CAD4TB simplifies project management with integrated training, installation, and support. CAD4TB is an AI software that analyses digital chest X-ray images to find TB-related abnormalities, as well as other lung and cardiac abnormalities. This strengthens the diagnostic value of chest X-rays in resource-constrained settings. Additionally, as a total solution provider for TB screening, we offer our clients a single point of contact for streamlined delivery, after-sales, and maintenance, reducing the total cost ownership and enhancing productivity and impact.

Please note that the Delft Light is compatible with other CAD/AI solutions.
